We are looking for experienced Data Scientists who have a penchant for challenging status quo, constantly innovating, experimenting and communicating the business-critical outcomes effectively with leaders and multiple business partners. The Staff Data Scientist – AI/ML Experimentation, is a critical thought-leadership role, uses cutting edge machine learning and statistics techniques to do experimentation and learning for our company’s continued success. Reporting to the Director, Data Science, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in design of experiments, measurement, statistics, machine learning and data mining. Will also be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. About the Team: The Retail Intelligence team is transforming the Retail business by reimagining existing business processes and incorporating ML/AI activations to achieve increased Customer and Associate engagement. The AI/ML Experimentation team, as part of the wider Retail Intelligence organization will be responsible for data/ business process mapping/discovery, value mapping ML/AI activations, rapid prototyping of ML/causal inference models, designing experiments and measurement of success metrics. What You’ll Do: - Partner with Science Management and Strategy teams to identify, design, develop, and execute experiments to improve AI/ML products or services. - Define success metrics for various AI/ML initiatives; analyze data from experiments and/or simulation models to identify and quantify the impact of changes. - Guide AI/ML adoption and roll out strategy by communicating the results of experiments to key strategic leaders and multiple stakeholders. - Identify dimensions and designs of experiments and create test and learn frameworks. - Conducts exploratory data analysis activities (for example, basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences) on available data. - Develop newer techniques (for example, advanced machine learning algorithms, auto ML) by leveraging the latest trends in machine learning, artificial intelligence to train algorithms to apply models to new data sets. - Guide the team on experimentation and advanced techniques to be used for complex problems; Build a culture of innovation to stay up to date on the latest experimentation techniques and best practices. What you’ll Bring... - At least 6+ years of experience in statistics, design of experiments, A/B testing, causal inference - Experience with DOE software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Design-Expert) and experimentation platforms such as (e.g., Google Optimize, Optimizely) - Experience with running simulations for experimental design - Experience in applying data science and machine learning to solve business problems. - Experience with Python, SQL, PySpark and cloud-based tools such as Big Query, Databricks - Experience with Data science and ML packages such as Do/why, scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy etc., - You’re a storyteller - a master at making complex subjects easily understood through compelling stories and visuals. - Experience in end-to-end model development and deployment lifecycle i.e., from prototyping to model development, ML Ops and putting models into production.
