Role: Senior .NET Developer Short Description: Engineer cloud native digital products that empower business to create a world class experience for our customers. Being a key member of the technology delivery team, you will be a hands-on contributor to the design, and implementation of our software solutions; participate in code reviews and discussions to maintain a high-quality coding standard; utilize DevOps tools and practices for building, deploying software; apply your continuous learning of new technology thinking and patterns to solve our business problems. Location: Australia – Melbourne Roles and Responsibilities: - Write, translate, and code software programs, and applications, according to specifications - Work closely with other engineering teams to gain bottom-up consensus in delivering technology solutions - To liaise with technical leads and architects to explore and suggest appropriate technical solutions to achieve the required features while safeguarding functionality, scalability and performance - Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of development efforts - Support the DevOps culture, continuously improve our implementation of DevOps - To write unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality - Commitment to exploring opportunities for continuous improvement - Develop a deep understanding of the systems, write concise yet comprehensive technical documentation - Support the implementation of software development best practice Skill/Competency Requirements Essential –- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a software developer, working in an agile team, practicing Scrum or Kanban. - Considerable experience applying software development best practices, MVC, design patterns – SOLID principles, domain driven development (DDD) and test-driven development (TDD). - Experience in C# using .NET core and .NET framework - Experience in Angular or React.js frontend frameworks - Experience with relational and non-relational database technologies; preferably in SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDB. - Familiarity with DevOps, and experience deploying software using CI/CD tools, in particular TeamCity/Octopus Deploy, is highly desirable - Experience in Web APIs, NUnit testing frameworks, messaging queues and AWS Cloud infrastructure - Passion for technology and continuous engineering growth with an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently and professionally with a diverse range of people. Preferred –- Experience in Energy, Utilities industry verticals Additional Skills: Excellent customer interfacing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
