The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.  We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Traded Risk Senior Manager Reg Reporting Assurance. Principal Responsibilities Role purpose:  The role purpose is to support in establishing the Traded Risk Assurance function for Regulatory Risk. This function will be responsible for controls design and effectiveness testing on Traded Risk activities related to Regulatory Reporting and covering both Financial and non-Financial Risk processes.  The Regulatory Risk Assurance function within Traded Risk is currently being established. This role holder will also be responsible for supporting with developing the operating model, including roles and responsibilities for the overall Traded Risk Assurance function for Regulatory Risk.  The role is pivotal in the exercise to shape a new approach to Regulatory Risk Assurance for Financial and non-Financial Risk and will work closely with other financial risk areas.  In this role, you will:  - Assist in ensuring that the approach to Traded Risk Assurance is appropriately defined and scoped, promoting and implementing synergies and efficiencies while securing an optimal and best in class control environment - Challenge the first line control and risk owners to ensure that risk management activities are working effectively. This includes the following activities  Provide subject matter expertise, advice, guidance, and effective challenge to the Risk and Control Owners - Monitor compliance of the minimum requirements applicable to the management of regulatory reporting risk, as set out in relevant policies - Be aware of impacts of external environment changes, emerging risks and changes to the business strategy - Work with the business to understand the impact of emerging risks that require changes to controls, resources and business operations to ensure they remain within appetite - Support definition of minimum control standards, with input from Risk Owners, and Control Owners, specifying key risks and key controls and providing guidance on continuous monitoring expectations  - Recommend Risk and Control Assessment (“RCA”) scoping, and challenge where this is not appropriately applied in the RCA - Drive, commitment and focus in operational excellence - Relevant Traded Risk and Control knowledge. The ability to work in fast-paced environments with a proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time - Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment - Knowledge of assurance practices - Thorough understanding of HSBC’s Traded Risk activities, products, processes and systems is highly regarded - Excellent business writing, communication, presentation and influencing skills - A demonstrable high level of professionalism and competency applied to determine solutions for risk processes, risk monitoring and management. - Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC. www.hsbc.com/careers HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
