Job Description Role – Senior Consultant Technology – IMAP / POP3 / SMTP / Webmail / LDAP / MYSQL / Salt-Stack / Terraform / Vault / Consul / Gitlab Location – Amsterdam, Netherlands A Senior Internet Services engineer works with various clients Internet Service Providers customer facing information system, assesses, and its growing needs. Designs and implements new software and applications that will help the company move forward in its market. To do this, the engineer must gain a quick understanding of what the company does, how it markets its product and how it communicates internally. The Internet engineer must have good communication skills. He or she must be able to teach and offer support services to employees; part of this is accurately assessing the technology skills of the work force. Some people find new technology intimidating and the engineer must demonstrate the ability to explain programs with patience and clarity. JOB PURPOSE We offer an email service to multiple clients customers over several countries. The service needs to be available 24/7 and performing to the highest quality standards. Creative problem-solving skills coupled with technological expertise are required to deal with day-to-day occurrences. Whether it's a software glitch or a seemingly inexplicable malfunction, the SR Internet engineer must be able to isolate the issue and repair the problem in a timely manner. As website hacking becomes more prevalent, Internet engineers are increasingly called on to create security solutions. An Internet engineer must be capable of multi-tasking. Most engineers work on several projects simultaneously while consulting with other team members or company employees Requirements: People applying for the job need to convince the manager that he is the one that is most willing to go through the learning curve needed to earn a place into the team. The team has got a long history of helping each other out and most of them are working together for longer than 20 years. We are looking for a person who complements the team with a healthy dose of humour, self-reflection, and good communication skills. Key Accountabilities - Provides the ISP team support for multiple platforms, including low level design, build and delivery across the following areas: - Collaboration technical support - Client Security Services architects - Thin Client technical support - Engages across multiple functions, both business and technical, to ensure services consistently match needs and expectations - Providing both 2nd and 3rd line technical support services, including tool support, establishing strong business relationships with end user groups - Will take on full responsibility of several components within the email ecosystem: - Availability, Quality, and Capacity KPI - Design, and support documentation - Automation strategies Specific Knowledge & Experience: IT Knowledge Mail (pop/imap/webmail): - Dovecot - Exim - Postfix - Zimbra Monitoring:- Prometheus - Icinga /Opsview - Grafana - Minmir - Loki Web technology:- Apache - NGINX OS: - Ubuntu - Redhat Databases:- Redis - Cassandra / Scilla - Mysql - LDAP Programming:- Python - Go Networking & advanced routing:- TCP/IP Configuration management:- Salt stack - Fabric Loadbalancers:- AVI - HaProxy Languages:- Dutch - English
