Principal Responsibilities Business Administration & Operational Management will lead or take ownership of business activities, supporting Leadership positions and Business Heads with non-BAU activities, cyclical work pieces such as Annual Reporting and short term initiatives. They are located in BAU teams and would report to a Global, Regional, Country or Business Head and may have direct reports. This job is not client facing and does not have any portfolios. Those employees fulfilling a Business Administration & Operational Management role are expected to possess knowledge of financial budgeting, strategic planning, communication, and people management processes in the context of the business area they are located in. Strategic Market Management - Support Market Heads in enforcement of Business Strategy, including but not limited to New Business Expansion, Marketing, Sales Campaign, Prospect Management, Pricing Reviews, Financials, Budgeting etc. These are usually in the form but not limited to deck preparation, content review and follow through on outstanding actions - Prepares and analyses financial reports/dashboards/Management Information (MIs) for Market Head, assist in budget allocations and facilitate business review - Supports Markets in collaboration with other lines of business or HSBC affiliates for business growth - Acts as Chief contact point and conduit for respective market and support functions, including but not limited to facilitation of Business Case, Information Dissemination, Escalation etc - Liaise with other support teams to ensure the business processes are managed in an efficient and controlled manner, escalate and resolve day-to-day issues/queries - Provides Business Support to Market Heads including but not limited to Reviews and Challenge Business exceptions before Market Head reviews - Coordinator for Market Meetings, Sales, Strategy Day etc - Support Market Heads in monitoring, tracking and analysing individual and team’s KPI - Oversight on New Joiners onboarding process to ensure New Joiner experience within Market is smooth and consistent - Drive and support Key COO driven initiatives including but not limited to Process Improvement, Digital, Change, Regulatory initiatives etc - Understands Market challenges and in particular to operational processing , is able to identify, leads and drive end to end process improvement to streamline efficiencies across PB platform - In partnership with Business Change and Implementation and/or Transformation team, will facilitate and support market communications, feedbacks and also identify appropriate Market representatives for validation of new system , processes etc Risk Management and Control - Partners closely with CSE TLs to review all risk metrics, KPI and updates Market Heads accordingly - Assist Market Head (and Desk Heads) in the management oversight of the marketing platform and frontline staff (Relationship Managers and Client Service Executives) and ensure all policies and procedures are followed - Has oversight on all Risk issues across market e.g. open audit points, outstanding complaints - Works closely with CCO, Risk stewards etc. to provide guidance to Market on all PB controls e.g. CB rules, Investor Protection, Suitability etc - Oversight on Training, including following up and escalation to Market Heads - At least 10 years of related experience within private banking - Self-starter with ability to make balanced and independent decisions - Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and drive business results - Good knowledge of Private Bank Industry practices, platform, products, services and controls - Proven strategic planning and presentation skills - Ability to provide strong financial and statistical analysis to drive decision making - Attention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problems - Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management To be considered for this role, the relevant rights to work in Singapore is required.
