Job Description
Your role: - Privacy Counsel within the EMEA Privacy team, reporting into the EMEA Privacy Lead - European qualified lawyer - CIPP/CIPM certification (or equivalent) desirable - EU privacy knowledge and experience required - Regular contact with internal and external clients Responsibilities: - Work with the business and legal teams on regional and global privacy related matters - Respond to customer privacy questionnaires and audits - Support with Cognizant’s data transfer management programme, such as conducting Transfer Impact Assessment and supporting implementation of the new Standard Contractual Clauses - Assist with managing requests sent to Cognizant’s privacy inbox and privacy request portal - Conduct privacy risk assessments on customer projects - Support Subject Access Request response - Support implementation of the global privacy programme - Draft, develop, implement and maintain privacy policies, procedures, notices, playbooks and guidances - Instruct and manage outside counsel on issues of local law and practice - Design, develop and deliver privacy training - Review, draft and negotiate privacy clauses in customer and vendor contracts and support the wider commercial legal team - Support growth of new business opportunities by analysing privacy implications of new products and services and provide guidance on minimising privacy compliance risk - Conduct privacy impact and risk assessments - Monitor privacy developments, regulatory change, best practice and privacy compliance - Perform ad hoc administrative duties in support of the global privacy programme Your team: This role sits with Cognizant’s global privacy team, who report into the Chief Privacy and Data Ethics Officer What we offer: - A competitive salary based on your experience. - Access to Udemy and Cognizant Academy digital libraries for your continuous learning. - NS business card to cover your commute expenses. - 25 days of paid holiday per year. - A laptop and a smartphone. - A pension scheme. - Organization driven by technology – we have a tremendous technology backbone. - Open, ‘can do’ team spirit and environment that encourages making your ideas reality! What you will bring to the team: - Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
