Location: Melbourne Roles and Responsibilities: - To plan, organize and technically lead and control the team responsible for the provision of maintenance and support of application systems (scope - a single large/complex system and/or a group of applications) to enable achievement of required system availability, reliability and service levels - To manage a team to design and develop solution packages (projects, enhancements, maintenance and/or support) ensuring adherence to group standards and processes - Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary - Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards - Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions Essential: - Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline. - 8+ years of technical working experience in developing and support complex host mainframe technology on COBOL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, Assembler and PL1. - Excellent communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skill - Knowledge of full software development life cycle & agile development  Preferred: - Primary skills – COBOL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, and PL1 - Good to have – Assembler, CA7 & DB2, JCL - Experience in Files structure concepts, SORT, Endeavor, support tools such as File AID & Abend AID, Job Scheduler (OPC). - Must have forward looking mind-set to groom the junior team members Additional Skills: - Excellent customer interfacing skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
