Job Description

What you'll do... Position: Software Engineer II Job Location: 702 SW 8th St, Bentonville, AR 72716 Duties: Participates in small to medium-sized complex team projects by reviewing and understanding project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; researching and identifying alternative solutions; determining needed solutions based on return on investment and value add to the business; gathering needed information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; communicating status and issues to appropriate team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams; identifying areas of opportunity; interpreting information and identifying a solution; ensuring solution is sustainable across implementation and use; and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Provides support to the business for new and existing systems by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility); researching and identifying needed solutions; determining implementation designs; providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems; and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of own domain. Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality); performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; engaging support teams when needed; developing solutions; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; and completing online documentation. Telecommuting / work from home is permissible. Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 1 year of experience in IT or related field. Skills required: Must have experience with: Coding in Object oriented programming language (Java); using Selenium to automate web-based application testing; storing and retrieving data from MySQL database; performing ETL data modeling using Data 360 to map data between JIRA and Smartsheet; moving JENKINS from on-premises to AWS cloud; publishing and consuming messages from Kafka topics; creating, mounting, and unmounting File system in Linux; utilizing JIRA as a project management tool; developing REST API for back-end services; consuming SOAP UI for backend testing; utilizing Postman for testing rest-based API services; querying data from data sources using SQL and creating aggregated tables; setting up and configuring network components and monitoring tools (Datadog, Instana, Splunk, and Netcool) with AWS to monitor performance and failures; analyzing structured and semi-structured data using Hadoop; using MongoDB to store and retrieve business data; using Jenkins to build, test, and deploy applications; utilizing Git & GitLab as a source code management tool; hosting datasets and setting up servers for Tableau and analyzing data to create visualizations; using Cassandra to store and retrieve business data; and utilizing storage technologies (iSCSI/SCSI, NAS, NFS, SSL, SAN, MSA, and DNS) to provide storage solutions to customers including configuration, management, troubleshooting, and retrieval of enterprise storage units and libraries. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
