We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will: - Be involved in all aspects of development playing a critical role to design, develop, test, debug, improve software programs for databases, java based applications, tools, networks etc and participate in post go-live support - Troubleshoot and debug the code to resolve issues that arise in development, testing, deployment and production - Work closely with clients, architects, stakeholders and business analysts to understand the business requirements and present technical solutions to deliver new features - Prepare detailed technical and solution design documentation, document code consistently throughout the development process - Be an advocate of agile and DevOps practices (automation, TDD,CI/CD) and help develop best practices for future development. - Communicating project progress to clients in timely manner, providing a clear and concise overview of milestones achieved and challenges faced To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: - 3 to 6 years of experience in Java development - Solid understanding and experience of Java 8(minimum), Spring MVC/Spring boot, Concurrency, Collections RESTful web services, RDBMS(Oracle/DB2), SQL queries - Secondary skills: DB2 database, Unix/Shell scripting, Batch scripting, Micro-services - Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Maven, Jenkins, Anile, Service Now, POSTMAN - Exposure to Agile methodology, JIRA, Confluence - Must have good analytical, debugging and problem solving skills and excellent communication skills. - Good to have: Experience working in cloud based systems like AWS - Nice to have experience in: Control-M, Content Manager, IBM MQ, Middleware (App server’s/Web server), Junit You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC. www.hsbc.com/careers HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
