Our Banking & Financial Services Consulting practice is looking for a Director, Consulting to join us in our Chicago office (remotely). We solve banking’s toughest challenges, and we’re looking for leaders to join us in this pursuit.   This specific role is for an Engagement Lead who can apply their Capital Markets Domain experience in Front Office (“FO”) capabilities directly to lead and drive large, complex transformations for F2000 clients. To be successful, you’ll need domain specific knowledge, and the experience to apply it complex engagements. From a domain perspective, we’re looking for a business-savvy expert with direct trading experience or substantial FO exposure in FO / Trade support roles.  Ideally, you’ll be familiar with order and trade origination (Sales and FO Risk Trades) which require understanding of Order Management/Execution Management, Pricing, Pre-/Post Trade analytics, trading controls/compliance, and more. It will also be key to be familiar with various data domains required to support FO businesses, especially market data infrastructure given trends around electronification of markets and algorithmic trading. Knowledge of at least one asset class (e.g., FX, Fixed Income securities - vanilla products to structured products, equity derivatives, Commodities, etc.), and the desire to expand your expertise to an additional asset class to drive solutions across other asset classes will be essential, as well as experience with FO trading & risk packages (e.g., Murex, calypso, Ion suite products, wall street, and others).     From a Consulting perspective, we’re looking for an experienced management consultant who can drive functional solutions around FO capabilities and consolidation across these packages. This is a hands-on advisory role that requires personal leadership, team leadership, and client hand. It’s an exciting opportunity to guide some of the world’s leading banks to solutions that years ago were not thought possible. The knowledge and ability to lead FO transformation assessments and studies, package selection activities, and advisory around overall implementation needs and design for the business (i.e., familiar shaping an implementation strategy and full implementation oversight) will be the right mix to step into this role. Apply now!   Responsibilities - Serve as an Engagement Manager and Capital Markets Domain Expert in Front Office Capabilities; apply Trading knowledge to identify, assess, and solve business problems for Front Office exposure FO Trade Support roles for Banking & Financial Services clients - Lead the development of solution approach, plan, roadmap, conceptual architecture, Target Operating Models and Standard Operating Procedures for implementing technology in banks. - Serve as a strong advisory consultant with experience assessing, shaping and transforming operating models from both a business point of view as well as the technology/architecture management.  This is not a technical SME role, but rather a business role where the needs of the business can be represented as part of key technology initiatives. - Interface directly with the client(s); manage through complexity; start with a point of view; assess and drive situations that require rigor and depth analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, some of which maybe incomplete and can proficiently deliver high quality work-products that may include techno-functional presentations, solution approaches - Provide project leadership, direction on support on one or more projects while ensuring quality on all outcomes; Help build, lead, and develop team of onshore/offshore consultants when needed - Contribute to business development through activities such as pre-sales client presentations, research, and writing proposal, RFP responses and SOWs; Identify and support up-sell opportunities and activities - Deeply understand client’s business challenges, and provide thought leadership to the market in addressing these issues - Work proactively to bring the best of Cognizant expertise to their client(s)   Qualifications - 15+ years of experience in a Consulting, Banking, or a Professional Services organization, at least 8 of which include driving engagements for clients - Depth in Banking, specifically in: Front Office capabilities, order and trade origination (Sales and FO Risk Trades), Order Management/Execution Management, Pricing, Pre-/Post Trade analytics, trading controls/compliance, etc; Familiarity with data domains required to support FO businesses, especially market data infrastructure given trends around electronification of markets and algorithmic trading - Familiarity with at least one asset class (e.g., FX, Fixed Income securities - vanilla products to structured products, equity derivatives, Commodities, etc.), the ability to apply it to the above, and the desire to expand one’s knowledge to drive solutions in other asset classes. - Demonstrated personal leadership and the ability to manage multiple assignments and direct teams on major engagements within the financial services domain; the ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary - Technical knowledge paired with a collaborative approach and the ability to work with diverse teams across multiple client engagements in the F2000 to help drive successful business outcomes - The ability to sell client work as part of your role as a Director in the practice - A Bachelors or Masters Degree in a field that supports the pursuit of above - Ability to travel when needed for client engagements - The ability to create consulting work-product, including demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Knowledge of Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Microsoft Power BI etc.), and SQL as an intermediate skilled user Work Authorization - Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)
